2D Space Flying Prototype

I made this project for a game design class. It is meant to prototype what a 2D space exploring game could be like.

I've seen many 3D space games out there, but rarely do I see a 2D one, I think it has potential as the controls feel good, the atmosphere could be improved, but even as it is in this prototype it captures my vision of Sci-Fi space quite well, and the combat could become a very exciting and challenging mechanic as it is with the addition of enemies.
